Welcome to East Sussex Petitions
This site is shared and run by local councils in East Sussex.
You can find out what online petitions are running, and get involved to support the issues that matter to you. You can create your own petition - and if enough people join you, submit it directly to the people responsible.
How can we help you?
Petitions can raise awareness of an issue, show strong public approval or disapproval of council actions, or allow people to ask their local council to debate a matter of concern.
Who can sign or create a petition
Anyone who lives, works or studies in East Sussex can use this site.
Sign a petition
Select a petition from the list and click 'sign'. We'll ask you for some details before your signature is counted, but we'll only publish your name for others to see.
What issues you can raise
Your petition should be about matters over which a local council will have powers or responsibilities.
Who we are
Depending on what your petition is about, it will be handled by people at different councils. These teams work closely with councillors, and you can contact us through a single email address: petitions@eastsussex.gov.uk
Online, paper, or both?
- This site creates a printable pdf version of your online petition, if wanted.
- You can run both types at the same time and combine the numbers before submitting them to your council.
- The paper version means you can collect signatures at times and places when people are not online.
Please note: Wealden District Council do not accept petitions submitted through this site. Please use the independent Wealden District Council epetitions system.
